A crowd assembled at the Stuart statue in Victoria Square, Adelaide, on Sept 13th 2015 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Stuart’ s birth. The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Martin Haese, and his wife Genevieve, were special guests. Bob Schinckel and Jim Turner, descendants of FW Thring  – third officer and in charge of horses on Stuart’s sixth and exploring expedition – laid a remembrance wreath. Adding a distinctly Scottish flavour, Andrew Pawson played the bagpipes

The crowd then decamped to the North Rd Cemetery to hear about the lives of Stephen King, James Chambers, John Chambers and William Finke. Luncheon followed – a beaut day by any measure.
